Disciples who make disciples
One of our key convictions at UBC is to be discipleship focused. It is the heartbeat of what we do. So, the question one might ask is, “What does discipleship look like at UBC?” First and foremost, we believe discipleship should not only impact you as an individual, but it should impact lostness as well.
We want to be disciples who make disciples. This means we will go beyond our church walls and seek to make a difference in the lives of others who don’t know Jesus. We believe that growing in our own faith should naturally lead us to going and making disciples of others. So, how do we do this?
As much as we value the ability to worship corporately and connect with each other on Sunday morning, we know that discipleship must go well beyond Sunday. We are currently working on cultivating intentional groups that are designed to equip everyone to grow as a disciple who makes disciples. These groups will seek to provide a strong emphasis on community, teaching and an accountability that leads us to impact lostness.
Currently, we are working towards implementing these groups in incremental phases while we work to develop some best practices before officially launching them to the whole church. Please pray for us during this current phase and be looking for more information in the near future.
