Spiritual Reset

We often need a reset. We can get a physical reset after a nap or a good night’s sleep. We prompt a mechanical reset when we fill the gas tank in the car and clear the trip meter. We need an electronic reset every now and then when cell phones work poorly and need to be powered off and restarted. In the past year a pandemic triggered for us a cultural and behavioral reset. I love my mom. Even more than that, I value every moment I have with her. I cherish these moments because I am very aware that I don’t have many left. At 92, she has begun to fall more often, to refuse to eat vegetables, to sing at the top of her lungs a combination of hymns, prayers and gibberish. The Art of Conversation

In a recent conversation with a music major, the subject of art came up.
